Pomegranate
If you ever find yourself wandering through the charming streets of Seaford, England, and you’re craving a warm, cozy spot that feels like a hidden gem, then Pomegranate at 45 Broad St is exactly where you need to be. It’s one of those places you stumble upon once and then keep coming back to - whether for the comforting smell of freshly brewed coffee or a quick bite that somehow manages to feel like home-cooked goodness.
Pomegranate isn’t trying to be flashy - and that’s part of its magic. The atmosphere strikes a rare balance: friendly, unpretentious, and somehow both peaceful and buzzing at the same time. Whether you’re a local looking for a reliable lunch stop or a solo traveler hunting for the best coffee shops in Seaford, Pomegranate ticks the box.
Let’s talk about the coffee, because frankly, it deserves the spotlight. A cappuccino here isn’t just a caffeine fix - it’s smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. Coffee lovers will also appreciate the well-curated tea selection, perfect for a quiet afternoon or a catch-up session with a friend. And yes, the desserts are worth writing home about. The chocolate cake is indulgent without being overwhelming, while the coffee cake has just the right crumb - moist, spiced, and satisfying.
Food-wise, the menu at Pomegranate leans into classic British comfort, with a few surprising touches. One standout is the Welsh Rarebit - a dish that’s hard to find done right outside of Wales, but Pomegranate nails it. Rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. The Smoked Salmon paired with Rosemary Scone is another local favorite - it’s the kind of combo that feels gourmet without being pretentious.
Vegetarians and vegans will find solid options too. There’s a thoughtful selection of vegan dishes and healthy options that go beyond the usual salads. If you’re just after something light, grab a quick bite like the Salmon Pate & Toast - small, flavorful, and perfect with that second cup of coffee.
One of the best things about Pomegranate is its accessibility. It features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating, making it welcoming for everyone. There’s a quiet confidence to how inclusive and comfortable the space is - no frills, just thoughtful hospitality.
Pomegranate is best known for breakfast and lunch, and it’s easy to see why. Morning regulars often stop by for their daily brew and a slice of something sweet, while lunchtime brings in a mix of solo diners, work-from-cafe freelancers, and locals just taking a break. There’s no pressure to rush; the vibe here encourages you to slow down and enjoy your meal.
Although Pomegranate doesn’t offer delivery, you can always dine in or grab takeaway. That makes it a solid choice for those early office runs or lazy brunches with friends. The staff know their regulars, and even if it’s your first visit, you’ll be greeted with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like part of the neighborhood.
For those who love discovering independent cafes in the UK, Pomegranate is worth adding to your list. It stands apart from high-street chains thanks to its personal touches, a carefully curated menu, and a real sense of character. It’s one of those rare spots that blends good coffee, great desserts, and a welcoming vibe without trying too hard.
Whether you're in it for the vegetarian lunch options, a quiet solo coffee, or just a good old-fashioned tea and cake moment, Pomegranate in Seaford delivers.

Every great day in Seaford starts, ends, or includes a visit to Pomegranate! Lovely food, staff, and ambiance guarantees you a delightful experience.
We came here for a late breakfast and were impressed with the really nice coffee and good selection of sandwiches in affordable prices. However, we were surprised that the sandwiches were served cold - they looked like they were meant to be grilled, and the cheese was just begging to be melted. The staff was super friendly, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. We also decided to treat ourselves to a dessert – sort of a layer cake – but it was super sugary and filled with fatty cream and not much to our liking. Overall, a bit of a mixed experience but the place definitely has a potential
Fabulous experience at the Pomegranate Cafe today. Great customer service and really fresh food. We had the rarebit and a ploughman’s, both very tasty and the salad was really fresh. Would highly recommend.
